(26 Aug 2017) Country superstar Shania Twain would jump at the opportunity to record a duet with her fellow Canadian Celine Dion.
The You're Still the One hitmaker is feeling reinvigorated as she prepares to release Now, her first album since 2002's Up!, on 29 September (17), and when asked if she would be interested in a potential double-act with Celine, Shania makes it clear she is all in.
"Hell yes," she exclaims to The Cut. "Oh, I'd love to do that."
"I actually use her (Celine) as my warm-up music a lot of the time," she shares. "She's got such a high range. Drove All Night (by Celine) is my favourite one to do my vocal warm-ups to, because it has the higher harmony, which is really hard."
If Shania's wish comes true, it won't be the first time the two female powerhouses have teamed up to sing - they joined forces with Gloria Estefan and Carole King to perform the classic James Taylor song You've Got a Friend at VH1's Divas Live event in New York City back in 1998.

(23 Aug 2017) Taylor Swift was reported to return to the spotlight by debuting a new song on Friday (25 Aug 2017) and unveiling the accompanying promo at Sunday's (27 Aug 2017) MTV Video Music Awards.
The pop superstar sparked fevered speculation she was preparing for her music comeback last week (18 Aug 17) after clearing her social media pages and making her official website go dark.
She then teased her Twitter followers on Monday (21Aug17) by posting the first of two cryptic videos of what appeared to be a snake moving its tail against a black backdrop, with a second, similar clip uploaded on Tuesday (22Aug17).
Taylor, who released her last album, 1989, in October, 2014, has yet to elaborate on the meaning of the captionless videos, but multiple sources tell Variety.com the singer will launch her new single by the end of the week.

Taylor Swift has given a surprising songwriting credit to the team behind Right Said Fred's I'm Too Sexy on her new single Look What You Made Me Do.
The Shake It Off hitmaker premiered the lead track from her forthcoming album Reputation on Thursday night (24Aug17). The new single, in which she appears to take aim at her music rivals Kanye West and Katy Perry, was written by the singer and Jack Antonoff but in the official song credits, the British pop band are also listed.
Right Said Fred members Fred and Richard Fairbrass and Rob Manzoli have received the credits as Taylor's song features "an interpolation of a melody" from their 1991 debut single, which reached number two in the U.K. charts. According to NME.com, the credit acknowledges the delivery of the lyrics in the chorus of Taylor's single are similar to their spoken word verses.
To coincide with the release of Look What You Made Me Do, Taylor teased a possible 2018 tour by teaming up with Ticketmaster Verified Fan for a new way of buying tickets.
"Taylor Swift is committed to getting tickets into the hands of fans...NOT scalpers or bots," the message reads on her web page. "So she’s collaborating with Ticketmaster #VerifiedFan to create an exclusive program to help YOU get the best access to tickets in North America, in a really fun way."

Country Radio On Taylor Swift Single: Nothing To See Here
Unless you stared directly at the sun without those magic glasses during MONDAY's (Aug 21) solar eclipse, thereby permanently damaging your retina, you're probably aware of the biggest topic in all of entertainment today (Aug 25): TAYLOR SWIFT's new single, "Look What You Made Me Do." It's the lead song from her upcoming sixth studio album, "Reputation," Due FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 10th, and -- as anticipated -- the song is 100% Pop. But, there was speculation some at Country radio might give it a token spin this morning too, given SWIFT's rich history on Country radio.
A look at the MEDIABASE Real Time chart as of 3:30p (CT) showed a grand total of six Country stations daring enough to play the new SWIFT, for a total of seven spins: CUMULUS WNSH/New York; RUBBER CITY WQMX/AKRON; CBS RADIO KMLE/Phoenix; EMPIRE KRTY/SAN JOSE; BINNIE WTHT/PORTLAND, ME; and PAMAL WKLI/ALBANY, NY.
WQMX PD Sue Wilson said: "Taylor is a megastar, and yes, she's been in the news for other reasons, but everything she does is relevant to any audience that has 18-34 year-olds in it. And, of course, she started out in Country, so it makes sense to let our audience know what she is up to. While we don't plan on playing this song in a regular rotation, I didn't want our listeners to have to go elsewhere to hear it, so we are using this today as our big trending topic, and setting it up with every play and asking for comments. Our morning show got just a couple calls, and they weren't positive: one general 'I don't like it' and another 'don't play that again, it's not Country," which, of course, is the expected, standard comment for any Pop-leaning song we play."

Taylor Swift's new song Look What You Made Me Do has broken all of Spotify's first-day streaming records.
The 27-year-old singer's first track from her upcoming sixth studio album, Reputation, notched up a milestone 8 million same-day streams following its debut on Thursday night (24 Aug 2017), more than any other track in Spotify's history.
YouTube officials have also confirmed the song's lyric video was played 19 million times within the first 24 hours of its launch by users, a new record for the video-streaming site.

(25 Aug 2017) Miley Cyrus has posed nearly nude for the front cover of photographer David LaChappelle's new coffee table book (Catalogue).
The 24-year-old, who has ditched her former wild, provocative image for a down-to-earth makeover of late, appears to be completely naked in the image, but she is actually wearing an extremely sheer bodysuit embellished with strategically placed clusters of pink Swarovski crystals around her breasts and privates to protect her modesty.
In the picture, which appears on the cover of LaChappelle's upcoming book Lost + Found, Miley looks like a pixie as she has butterfly wings sprouting out of her back. The singer, who wears a super curly blonde wig and heavy blue and pink eye make-up, is stood on the branch of a tree which has grown inside a prison cell.
Lost + Found, which marks his first publication in 10 years, will be published by Taschen on 1 December (17) and also contain more than 150 previously unpublished photographs of celebrities including Naomi Campbell, Lady Gaga, Kanye West and late stars Amy Winehouse, David Bowie, and Michael Jackson.
She recently spoke to Billboard about her new image and said she wanted to be able to reach out to her more conservative fans but didn't think they would take her seriously when talking about politics if she was wearing her old outfits.

(25 Aug 2017) Billboard Streaming Takes Aim at Its Biggest Consumer Target Yet
In 2016, streaming accounted for over half of U.S. music sales. By the end of 2017, with download sales continuing to fall, it could be close to two-thirds. But what this biz’s future looks like -- and whether it will be shaped by music-centric companies like Pandora and iHeartRadio or digital giants like Apple and Amazon -- depends on what happens in the next few months.
Right now, the paid on-demand business driving streaming revenue is dominated by Spotify and Apple, which this summer announced that they have 60 million and 27 million respective subscribers worldwide. While the RIAA has not released subscription numbers since April, MusicWatch analyst Russ Crupnick estimates that, in the States, there are now between 32 million and 34 million on-demand music service subscribers. Amazon has never announced subscriber numbers for Amazon Music Unlimited, although most analysts now believe it is, or will soon emerge as, No. 3.

(22 Aug 2017) Luke Bryan Defines ‘What Makes You Country’ in New Song
Luke Bryan is vocal about the fact that he’s working on new music, and fans can get a listen to a new song presumably called “What Makes You Country,” which Bryan performed acoustic during a recent VIP pre-show hang. “What Makes You Country” is all about that country life. Bryan sticks up for those who have adopted the lifestyle, no matter where they came from, singing, “People talking about what is and isn’t country / What gives them a right to wear a pair of beat up boots / Is it the size of your tires or your wild ass buddies.” He calls out critics — including his own —who try to define what is and isn’t country, pouring gasoline on a timeless debate about the progression of the genre….Read More
