Nashville Nights UK Uncovered: FAQs & Interview

What Happens at Nashville Nights?
We have great fun!
Basically, it's a lively evening enjoying the best in New Country music from the USA.  Over 18's only please and there's no dress code.  Every venue will have a guest Country Music DJ spinning the decks and keeping you on the dance floor, plus our Flagship London events also feature a live guest performance by some of the UK and USA's rising country music stars!
We have chosen each city and venue very carefully and we hope we can share our love for country music with as many fans (and those who are simply 'country curious') as possible.  We hope to see you on the road!

What Kind Of Music Will You Play? Modern Country Music!
You can expect to hear the very best from artists such as:
Florida Georgia Line, Luke Bryan, Carrie Underwood, Thomas Rhett, Miranda Lambert, Sam Hunt, Chris Young, Kacey Musgraves, Brad Paisley, Chris Stapleton, Eric Church, Zac Brown Band, Kip Moore, Little Big Town, Lady Antebellum, Keith Urban, Jason Aldean, Taylor Swift, The Band Perry, Brett Eldridge, Kelsey Ballerini, Maddie & Tae.

Is There A Minimum Age Limit For Your Events?
Yes, the minimum age for entry is 18 years old.

Do I Need To Wear Cowboy Boots and a Hat?
Definitely Not! Their policy is to wear what you like, jeans, baseball caps, t-shirts and sneakers....they don't mind!

In early 2016, before the launch of Nashville Nights UK, we asked co-founder and Events Director Janine Lambert some questions which she very kindly answered

1) With Baylen Leonard on board it seems something like a C2C After Party/ Socials spin off? Did these do the market research for you in affect, is there demand for them around the UK? We're there any videos from the events?
Janine: We didn't take any video of the C2C socials but there were certainly people up and dancing after the live acts had finished, in terms of styles of dancing I like to go for "like no-one is watching!" but there were lots of people on the floor just dancing as you would to any other type of music at a 'disco'...there were a couple of smaller linedance groups doing dances to a couple of songs. We enjoyed the C2C socials and that was our main reason for choosing Baylen Leonard as our Launch Party DJ

2) Your LOGO doesn't have any "UK" aspect to it?: Would you consider Nashville Nights UK to be the modern day answer to the traditional Country Music Club?

Janine: We are very vocal about the fact that we are in the UK, our logo represents that little bit of the USA that we are bringing to our party nights. I hope that we are the modern answer to the Traditional Country Music Club, yes, we have enjoyed USA country music for many years (over 20 years for sure) and we have always wanted a place we could go to socialise whilst enjoying country music...linedancing evenings incorporated some, but the music choices at linedancing evenings are extremely varied, we wanted something like a nightclub where you could dance your own way and have a good night out.

3) You mention going to Nashville and enjoying the honky-tonks atmosphere. So, what sort of dancing goes on in there in terms of "bringing the spirit of Nashville back to the UK"?
Janine: This is obviously very varied as different bars had different things going on, but basically what we meant was that laid back, hanging out with friends, dancing, drinking, singing along to the music we love. Country fans are a social bunch and I think given the chance in the UK (which we hope we are doing) we will be able to bring this spirit here.

4) Is There a Maximum Age Limit For Your Events?
Are most people who attend 18-30?
Would people look at you funny if a 55+ person came along, would they look out of place?
Janine: There is absolutely no maximum age limit for events, the only criteria for the evenings is that you should be a country music fan (or at least country curious) and you are coming along to enjoy yourself. Obviously, as we are just preparing for our launch night we don't know yet what sort of age range we will attract, we ourselves are in our 30's and 40's, but as I said earlier, in my experience over the last 20 years I have always found country fans to be a social bunch and I am sure if a 55-year old came along they would not feel out of place.

= Daft question really of course they’d let Pensioners in at  Under The Bridge in Chelsea!

5) What sort of dance styles would you expect to see?
Janine: Anything....I personally will be dancing in the same way I would to any other type of music, If others want to linedance then they will certainly be able to do that (again, the linedancers I've come across on my travels are a courteous lot and usually just find a spot to one side to do their thing...and why not!) we want everyone to enjoy the night in their own way, if people are two stepping around the outer edge of the dance floor then good on 'em for knowing how to. These events are to celebrate country music and everyone is most welcome.

6) Any Line Dancing allowed? If so will there be any Line dance pens? The dancefloor etiquette that has grown organically (rather than enforced), at British Country Music Festivals are linedancers in the centre while partner dancers circle (not two-steps) around the outside. Or dedicated linedance areas to one side at the outdoor festivals.
Janine: There won't be linedance pens, I'm confident that people will be sensible when it comes to sharing the dance floor space

7) Will there be any Dance Teachers present at your events?
Janine: No, there won’t be any linedance instruction.

8) Any Barefeet Dancin' allowed? Any DeeJay Silver Mash-Ups
Janine: Would love some DJ Silver Mash Ups, not sure yet if that's Baylen's thing but if he throws then in his set then great stuff!

9) Any DeeJay Silver-like custom mixes from Baylen Leonard or Country Music DJs?
Janine: It would be great if he did....if anyone out there has these country music DJ mixing skills for any of our other events we'd love to hear from them!

10) Is someone like the UKs very own Dave Sherriff out of the question on a future Nashville Nights UK live bill?
Janine: Hmmm, probably not.
UPDATE: The Telford man’s song was written 20 years ago. But now in 2017 it has got a fresh lease of life featured in Danny Boyle's new film T2 Trainspotting!

11) Can you pull off some Sam Hunt "Take Your Time" dance moves?
Janine: Wow! If only I had those moves! not sure that we will be attempting a synchronised dance performances but we will be shakin' our booty to some top country tunes!
