The pride and smile that comes across your face, when reflecting on where you grew up, “Hometown” achieves this heartwarming feeling expanding beyond a physical destination.
I was raised in a very small town in Oklahoma and that was a big inspiration behind this song, and honestly a bunch of the songs that I write,” comments Hayes, “This song in particular focused on the reasons why you'd never want to leave your hometown, and why you'd end up returning to your roots or returning to your hometown eventually.”
Amber Hayes penned the song with Bill DiLuigi and JP Williams years ago. It wasn’t until after she was selected for the new HGTV series, Home Town, in which the hosts, husband-and-wife team, Ben and Erin, did a complete overhaul and renovation on Hayes newly purchased home in Laurel, Mississippi that Hayes brought the song to life and recorded the track. Reflecting the purpose behind the show, “My Hometown” is featured during Hayes’ episode, airing on HGTV on May 23

Her latest release, the 5 track EP titled RUNNING OUT OF MEMORIES (released 4 Nov 2014 | Amazon UK | iTunes), featured three songs produced by Bobby Terry, as well as a remix of her previously released tune, “Me & Loretta,” and a new rendition of the classic “Cotton Eyed Joe,” which was featured in the family-film, Cowgirls ‘N Angels 2: Dakota’s Summer.
